We’ve reached moving day at this year’s PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club. While part of the field has already been cut, we think we’re starting to get an idea of which players may find themselves in contention by the end of the weekend.
Or have we?
The second major of the year has been lethal, with the course proving to be unforgiving, and some of the top names in golf looking like an Average Joe given the course and weather conditions — which saw a rainy, soggy track to begin the third round on Saturday. So the final two rounds remain wide open, with players capable of moving up and down the leaderboard with either one good or one bad hole.
One name that everyone’s surprised to see in the top-10 after round 2? Michael Block, a 46-year-old Southern California club pro.
Our own Dylan Dethier caught up with social media star Roger Steele, who said he loved the confidence that Block had entering the PGA Championship this week.
Regardless of how things end for Block at Oak Hill, he’s enjoying himself and soaking it all in — and why shouldn’t he — he’s competing with the best and most recognizable players in the world this weekend.

We also got a chance at a fun interaction with Viktor Hovland — who’s tied for first at 5-under with two other players entering Round 3.
Sure, there was some golf to be talked about, with Hovland admitting (joking?) that he’s “just been a little bit young and stupid” when addressing the media about his past major struggles.
But Hovland was also in a bit of a lighthearted mode, showing how unapologetic he is about his meme-worthy outfit; which included bright orange pants and a white top with matching orange accents.
